Ross has worked in the mortgage sector for many years, his experience ranges from the large organisations down to smaller, more personal ones.
Ross began working as a Mortgage Adviser and Regional Manager in 2013.
He has invaluable experience in all areas of Mortgage Advice, especially when it comes to Self Employed Mortgages.
Prior to working in Mortgage advice, Ross served in the Royal Navy for 9 years.
He is a passionate long distance runner and triathlete, having completed both the London and Manchester marathons, he also proudly calls himself an 'Ironman' after completing the UK Ironman in 2016.
Having worked as a Mortgage Broker in the industry for 16 years, Lindsey brings a vast wealth of experience to the table.
If you're self employed, you may think the nature of your income means getting a mortgage is near impossible, but we're here to tell you the opposite.
A study done by The Office for National Statistics showed self employment passed the 5 million mark in the UK at the start of 2020.
Which means, more people than ever are likely to be self employed and looking to secure a mortgage - whether it's their first home or a remortgage.
There are a lot of questions and grey areas surrounding self employed mortgages and we want to tackle frequently asked questions around this topic so you can head into your mortgage journey equipped with all the right knowledge.
There are a lot of advantages to being self-employed, especially when it comes to your finances.
The flexibility and freedom are both something that many self-employed individuals greatly appreciate.
However, it also comes with drawbacks, one of them being that it can be much more difficult to find a traditional mortgage.
Here, we're going to look at an alternative, and what you need to know about contractor mortgages.
People who work as a self-employed worker with no permanent position as part of a company, or as a short-term employee, may not be able to apply for the average mortgage.
If you are currently looking to buy a property and you work as an IT Contractor you may be confused as to how you can go about finding the right mortgage for your circumstances.
As an IT contractor, you are likely to be in what many lenders regard as unstable employment.
Contracting often means taking on a variety of contracts that last for weeks or months at a time, rather than working in a permanent position that pays a stable salary.
It's well-known that those who are self-employed or spend their time contracting can have a much harder time getting the mortgage that they want compared to those who are in permanent, full-time work.
