There are two schemes which you may be eligible for.
The first, available only on new build properties, is the shared equity loan. The Government lends you up to 20% of the cost of your newly built home, so you'll only need a 5% cash deposit and a 75% mortgage to make up the rest. You won't be charged loan fees on the 20% loan for the first five years of owning your home. The second scheme, available on both new and second hand houses, is the mortgage guarantee scheme.
The government gives a guarantee to your lender that enables the lender to offer you a mortgage with only a 5% deposit. Where you have a complaint or dispute with us and we are unable to resolve this to your satisfaction then we are obliged to offer you the Financial Ombudsman Service to help resolve this.
